Supervisor - Operational Planning and Compliance

Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Supervisor- Operation Planning and Compliance to join the versatile Mine Planning Team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Coordinator – Operational Planning and Compliance, you will be responsible for supporting the aims and goals of the Operational Planning and Compliance section by ensuring adherence to LMC’s Operational Planning and Compliance management processes in the optimal use of available resources to the successful attainment of the mine plan.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Providing information to coordinators and supervisors that drive productivity and ensure maximum production and productivity. Develop an integrated operational plan and associated schedule that defines the mining operations scope of work. Reconciliation plan to review performance and come up with actions to improve performance. Develop and plan short term, medium-term, long-term dewatering plans and strategies to meet the wet weather requirement preparations. Develop (or take part in) business improvement plans as and when required. Review and optimize waste dumping management in line with the short and long-term strategic goals. Liaise with the contractors and other departments on all contractual issues in areas of responsibility. Undertake relevant technical assignments to resolve technical issues as they arise in relevant fields of work. Drive continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction and operational improvement. Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports. 

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate  Minimum four (4) years’ experience in a similar role. Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Mining or related engineering discipline.  Strong operational background in Mining Equipment Operation in an Open Pit environment. Ability to understand mining equipment optimization concepts (sense of productivity). Knowledge of any planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan or equivalent will be an added advantage Must have good communication and computer skills in Microsoft based applications. Must be a member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
