Supervisor - Manufacturing Support (Day Shift)

Lilly is designing and building a new state of the art Parenteral, Device Assembly, and Packaging Facility in Raleigh-Durham North Carolina.  This is an exciting opportunity to help build a state-of-the-art facility and Quality System from the ground up. 

Responsibilities:

This role is expected to be an on-the-floor leader and will be a subject matter expert for the material preparation (parts washing, material preparation, and autoclave) process. This role will have the opportunity to be directly involved with hiring and training their team. Based on general production schedule, the Operations Supervisor is expected to generate detailed hour-by-hour schedule for the area to support parenteral operations.


• Support filling and formulation operations by overseeing the parts preparation, break relief, and area sanitization.

• Lead a team to support day-to-day activities in commercial operations which also entails consumable material management.

• Champion continued improvements to ensure area and team is inspection ready and improve standardization amongst team members.
• Prepare operations schedule to ensure no impact to filling or formulation and to ensure night shift has a defined schedule.

• Lead from the classified area and on the floor to provide coaching and improve communication. Ensuring team is supported and coached. This role is 95% on the floor and 5% behind a desk/laptop.

Basic Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years experience in operations. At least 3 years of supervisory experience supporting parenteral operations.
• Must have extensive knowledge in supporting activities for filling operations.

• Must have extensive knowledge of day-to-day production scheduling.

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts (2-2-3 schedule).

• Ability to work in a controlled environment (classified and not classified) which requires company-provided gowning.

• Must have strong hold time (dirty, clean, sterile) requirements and must be able to schedule day-to-day activities based on this understanding.

• Must have proven ability to problem-solve and escalate at appropriately.


Additional Skills/Preferences:
• Computer skills (Smart Sheet, Excel, Word).
• Biowork Certificate is a plus.

Additional Information:
• This position is for the Lilly Research Triangle Park site and on-site presence is required.

• Travel up to 5% during startup.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$35.33 - $58.89

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
