GENERAL SUMMARY: The Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient management, accuracy, and security of patient data within the HIM department. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of AHIMA guidelines and HIPAA regulations. The HIM Supervisor leads a team of HIM professionals and collaborates with various departments to uphold the integrity of the medical record. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: + Associate degree preferred. + Three (3) years of leadership and/or consultative experience within healthcare or an HIM department. + Proficiency in managing electronic health records (EHR) and related health information systems. + Ability to analyze and interpret healthcare data. + Proficiency in the use of MS Applications such as Excel and PowerPoint. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Skilled in resolving disputes and maintaining a harmonious working environment. + Effective at prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet deadlines. + Ability to lead and motivate a team. Effective in identifying issues and implementing solutions timely. + Ability to make informed decisions that benefit the department and organization.
