Supervisor/Driver – Portland, OR
Position Summary:
The Driver Supervisor reports to the local Terminal Manager. This position is responsible for the safety, quality and efficient management of ADM Trucking’s Portland, OR. terminal. This position must coordinate all activities between the sweetener terminal, external shop and other external or internal stake holders to ensure that customers’ delivery times are met effectively and efficiently.
Job Responsibilities:Understand and comply with DOT, OSHA and Food Safety regulations.Must have the ability to manage a growing and diverse workforce.Lead teams on and off site, including Driver Management, Customer Service, Training and BillingManage training requirements for each work group’s jobs being performed.Enforce policies, procedures and guidelines in a consistent manner.Respond to drivers concerns for safety, dispatch, equipment, etc.Hold and participate in quarterly and monthly meetings and ensure company information is communicated effectively.Provide timely and effective feedback to drivers to increase performance and accountabilityUnderstand and comply with good accounting principles established by Internal Audit.Ensure incidents are investigated properly and equipment is maintained within the proper guidelines.Manage all equipment service and maintenance schedules.Perform periodic light duty repairs on site.Dispatch equipment and drivers to ensure they are utilized efficiently and loads are delivered on time.Develop and build relationships with internal and external customers.Take ownership of all aspects of the Terminal’s businessUse and create metrics to evaluate business effectiveness and profitabilityAbility to be on callJob Requirements:7+ years of Trucking Management experience required.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Strong sense of leadership with the ability to impact and influence others.Proven ability to work within a team based work environment.Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to lead meetings.Some Domestic Travel may be necessaryThis position requires the ability to work in a variety of conditions such as an office environment, indoors/outdoors, hot/cold weather as well as physical demands such as standing, kneeling, and sitting for prolonged periods of time, climbing stairs/ladders and the ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions.Excited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
