Clinical Nurse Supervisor
Trauma Acute Care
Full-time, 4 x 10 hour Evening shifts (M-F)
This is a 36-bed post-surgical unit that specializes traumatic injury and acute care surgical patients. You will see patients in varying stages of pre and post-surgical care as well as medical co-morbidities. In addition, our unit will have the ability to be acuity adaptable and provide step down level care to 12 surgical patients.
Our inpatient surgical unit cares for adults typically on the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery services. Our team approach and changing environment make it a great place to learn and build/expand on nursing assessment, delegation, prioritization, critical thinking and time management skills. We have a team dedicated to process improvement, problem solving, and teambuilding, which has allowed us to become a unit where everyone is a part of the solution. The majority of our focus is our trauma population, so we have a great emphasis on teamwork, open communication and the ability to work in a fast pace environment. Our unit is a great place to work because we pride ourselves on teamwork and a nurturing, friendly environment. We have implemented unit initiatives to improve safety, reliability and team-based patient care.
Responsibilities
* Participates in performance management of staff members to include coaching, preparation of performance evaluations, and the performance management process. Initiates disciplinary action as appropriate.
* Completes administrative duties assigned.
* Promotes clinical growth within the team.
* Coaches and mentors new hires, as well as employees transitioning into new roles within the unit.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
* Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
* Bachelor’s Degree (e.g. BSN, BA, BS) at time of hire, or degree expected within 36 months of hire.
* 2 years of progressive responsibility within an acute care setting required.
* Specialty certification preferred.
* Must obtain and maintain clinical competencies within assigned unit.
* Excellent written, verbal and computer skills required.
* Demonstrated abilities with problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility and teamwork.
* Ability to work effectively in groups of employees and with patients and patient families is essential.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire eligibility.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
