Heraeus Quartz North America, LLC. has an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to join our Production team at our Buford, GA. location. The 2nd shift schedule is Monday to Friday (2 pm to 10 pm) 

The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise up to 20 employees on shift.  Lead, motivate and develop team to ensure planned output requirements and quality standards are met while ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed.  Acts in the absence of the department manager to ensure the safe operation of the production process in a positive, customer-centric environment. Able to adapt to change well and enjoy being part of a continuous improvement culture.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

Ensure the safety and productivity of all employeesEnsure security of facilities during designated shift hours Ensure that products and goods manufactured meet quality standards and check finished products to ensure qualityDraws in resources as necessary to ensure proper training, and quality for all employees on shift.Motivate workers to enhance production quantity and at the same time maintain high production standardsEnsure all employees are trained and following defined proceduresCreate work schedule for workers, approve leave and ensure required staffing levels are metEnable effective communications between management and operators Review team performance regularly to identify areas for improvement and encourage progress of individual team members through coaching development and performance review. Deliver agreed upon personal development plans. Achieve shift KPI targets e.g. for yield, quality, productivity, etc. Develop team-working across the factory, applying continuous improvement principles. Ensure regular communication/briefings to provide the team with relevant information to maximize shift productivity.Contribute to the planning, organization, operation and installation of all new processes and equipment within the factory. Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with 5S protocol Investigate and report all incidents (spills, accidents, poor performance) Keep records of workers performance, complete employee annual reviews.Ensure that work materials are present when needed.  Accurately complete all required shift documentation

What is required for this role:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred. High School Diploma is required.  Associates degree in a technical field is preferred.
