Your Role
We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and proactive Team Lead or Supervisor to lead and manage a team by providing guidance, oversight, support, recognition, and motivation to drive performance and engagement.
The Material Master Team Lead or Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that material definitions, ownership, and data quality standards are clearly defined, documented, and consistently maintained. They are also accountable for monitoring data quality, identifying and addressing issues, and overseeing Material Master projects to minimize the risk of adverse impacts.
Who are you
The primary purpose of this role is to:
Oversee material creation operations within GES in close collaboration with the US Material Master team.Monitor and drive progress across defined decision points (Buckets) to ensure an efficient end-to-end material creation process (NPDI).Support Material Master Data activities related to the successful loading and launching of materials from legacy Merck portfolio ERP systems.Actively participate in SAP-related initiatives, including the implementation of new functionalities, standardization across new sites, and workflow enhancements.Manage and resolve tickets related to material creation—primarily NPDI, as well as legacy processes—and address project-specific material requests.Possess in-depth knowledge of various Material Master transactions and related processes.Create new Master Data objects using standardized global templates.Manage and maintain Material Master data and associated objects by offering guidance, best practices, and enabling local users to maintain data at the organizational level.Drive continuous improvement of tools and processes related to Master Data management.Collaborate with the US Material Master Group to support data harmonization initiatives.Partner with NPDI Operational Leads to analyze and improve NPDI cycle times.Accurately interpret and act on requirements from local requesters and stakeholders.Plan and deliver effective team training sessions to ensure skill development and process efficiency.Proactively initiate and drive improvement projects with persistence and ownership.Effectively transfer SOPs and knowledge for NPDI decision points that are not related to Material Master.Extend materials to relevant organizational units, such as plants, sales org, and warehouses, based on business requests, ensuring proper configuration for seamless operationsManages data attribute updates in MDG-M and SAP ERP to maintain consistency across integrated systems in Maintenance processDemonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot Material Master-related issues.Engage with stakeholders confidently and lead meetings when required.Take initiative to identify bottlenecks and streamline processes for greater efficiency
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
Experience:
Minimum of 5–6 years of hands-on experience in managing Material Master data.Prior experience in a relevant industry is highly preferred.Strong working knowledge of SAP, particularly within the Master Data module.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Strong email and phone etiquette is essential.Proficient in SAP, with a solid understanding of relevant transactions and data processes.Capable of analyzing cycle time data and identifying actionable improvements in collaboration with the team.Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly with international teams to successfully transition and stabilize new processes.Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize shifting demands and maintain a high sense of urgency in a dynamic environment.
