Summary Supervises, coordinates activities of workers engaged in manufacturing of fasteners, operates machines and maintains and repairs machinery; ensures workers are following safety guidelines; monitors and controls production and expenses by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Schedules production for 3rd shift and aligns worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.Interprets and enforces company policies to workers. Understands, promotes and enforces Safety policies and procedures.Communicates manpower needs and assist in onboarding full time and temporary employees assigned to 2nd shiftRecommends measures to improve production methods, processes, equipment performance, and quality of product. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Examines defective machinery to determine cause of malfunction and reports, schedules and/or leads machine repairs.Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.Maintains time and production records.Understands and conducts quality inspection requirements to ensure Atlas standards are being achieved and adhered to.Purchasing spare parts and other items.Performs duties of all job assignments when needed.Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 8-25 employees on 2nd or 3rd Shift in the Ashland U.S. Plant. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; resolving problems and performing job assignments (Zinc Mold operator, Assembly operator, other plant machinery, and closure department) when needed. Plus continually works to improve Supervisory and maintenance skills.

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to three years related Supervisory experience and/or training; Two to three years of maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software; ability to use computer display screens and diagnostics; ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); HMI Interfacing to PLC experience.
Other Skills, Qualifications and Abilities
Experience working in a manufacturing environment; enforcing Safety procedures; Mechanical ability; experience with hydraulics and pneumatics; Two year electrical certificate preferred. Must be able to pass a physical exam in order to wear a respirator. Must be able to pass a driver's exam to operate a forklift along with the ability to be a forklift trainer. Lean Manufacturing training and/or experience helpful.
