Help us help others, and join Team Unum today! **General Summary:** The Supervisor, Provider Credentialing is a key leadership role within the Provider Network Operations function of the Dental and Vision business. This position oversees all aspects of provider onboarding, including contracting, credentialing, and data intake, ensuring timely, compliant, and high-quality execution. The incumbent will monitor business processes and work to ensure efficient, cost effective, and high-quality output while managing future growth and automation. The Supervisor has sufficient technical and analytical skills to facilitate and enhance the customer experience and/or process efficiency through process improvement, mentoring, training of others, project participation and quality assurance methods. This role will handle complicated and sometimes sensitive service and personnel matters. This role will be adept at turn around challenges and converting them into opportunities for deeper customer loyalty and potential customer expansion. This role will also support the operating effectiveness and efficiency of the assigned service operation. **Principal Duties and Responsibilities** + Resolve challenges to enable service results. First responder to escalated issues involving technology and process breakdowns. + Accountable for team level metrics to ensure that departmental goals are met. + Manage the day-to-day activities of leading direct reporting team. + Responsible for the hiring, performance, and compensation decisions affecting assigned staff. + Responsible for the training and development of staff. + Provide expert coaching, training, and support. + Assess quality, accuracy, and customer effort levels through conducting supplemental audits as directed by Department’s Management and/or Support team. Includes tracking findings, documenting training opportunities and communicating with management on a regular basis as well as maintaining audit production standards set forth by the leadership team. + Act as an expert consultant providing operations support to assigned business area(s). + Review existing processes and procedures to streamline processes and increase productivity; recommend changes to processes to upper management; ensure compliance to corporate policies, procedures, and controls. + Lead operational improvement initiatives within assigned area and working with divisions throughout organization to provide a better customer experience and industry leader in the market. + Perform research and provide cost justification for process changes and equipment purchases + Support implementation of any new processes going forward and deliver breakthrough levels of improvement on key initiatives. + Support implementations of technology through defining requirements, evaluation of technology options, user acceptance testing, and other ways as appropriate by project. + Build and monitor budget for assigned areas. + Collects and analyzes trends and drives improvement opportunities (new workflows, procedures and training). + Ensure departmental compliance with all system, standards, procedures and regulatory requirements. + Define operational reporting needed to drive improvements in processes and measure and monitor team performance against these metrics. + Develop strong working relationships with management at all levels. + Lead by example as an active change agent by leveraging influence skills. + Establish strong, effective, and collaborative partnerships with key business area leaders, project managers, and subject matter experts to address business needs and objectives. + Maintain professional/technical expertise of industry changes using publications and available training. + Build and maintain a library of documented processes and procedures. + Performs other duties as assigned. **Job Specifications** + Mastery of the responsibilities and job specifications or equivalent work experience + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred + 3–5 years of experience in provider network operations, credentialing, contracting, or provider onboarding within a healthcare, dental, or vision insurance environment preferred + Strong understanding of regulatory compliance standards (e.g., CMS, NCQA, URAC) related to provider credentialing and contracting preferred + Leadership experience preferred + Excellent interpersonal skills + Excellent oral and written communication skills + Strong organizational skills + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills + Strong PC skills required + Strong ability to use technology to solve business problems + Manage a virtual and/or in person team Unum and Colonial Life are part of Unum Group, a Fortune 500 company and leading provider of employee benefits to companies worldwide. The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience. $53,300.00-$100,700.00 Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
