Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
The Hair & Make Up Logistics Supervisor provides operational and planning support to the Manager by creating an optimum schedule for H&MU personnel assigned to support the various daily shows and one-off productions, overseeing the continuity of Hair and Make-Up throughout the duration of the productions, shows or events, & managing budgets and inventory of beauty supplies.
Job Duties:
+ Responsible for partnering with Manager to create a weekly work schedule for H&MU personnel based on all production needs for daily shows, one-off productions, and events
+ Provides analysis & insights on H&MU worked hours to ensure department remains within established budgets, controls overtime costs, and assigns proper number of H&MU personnel
+ Oversees inventory of beauty supplies & determines when products and tools need to be purchased while adhering to budgetary requirements
+ Responsible for storage of all beauty supplies and tools
+ Maintain product availability by ensuring consistent stock levels to support daily operations and prevent service disruptions.
+ Applies proper makeup and hairstyle trend to assigned talent(s) or client(s) based on visual requirements as required
+ Upholds appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing and ensures compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
+ Responsible for communicating with producers and talent/clients to create & maintain the desired look and should maintain a log of all the makeup products that are being used on each talent and the method of application
+ Creates and maintains an environment that is conducive to relaxation and professionalism for the talent/client to achieve the utmost positive results
+ Enhances facial aesthetics through makeup application and is responsible for removing makeup after usage on sets
+ Collaborates with Manager and Producer(s) in scheduling of fittings and assists in fitting process as needed
+ Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of workspaces (shared and/or individual)
+ Serve as a key point of communication, helping to resolve scheduling conflicts, track availability, and adapt plans as production demands evolve
+ Works under the direct supervision of the Sr. Manager, Hair, MU, & Wardrobe Svcs and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by the Manager as needed
Basic Requirements:
+ Minimum of 3 years of logistical/scheduling experience in a production environment
+ Minimum of 3 years of makeup experience in a production environment
+ Proven intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 & associated tools
+ Prior experience working with on air talent
+ Exhibits working knowledge and techniques for the application of makeup specifically designed for television/film
+ Must be able to perform job at locations in and outside work environment with varying weather conditions
+ Fluent in English & Spanish (both written & verbal)
Desired Characteristics:
+ Makeup Certificate or relevant industry experience preferred
+ Must be knowledgeable in various styles of makeup and hair
+ Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 & associated tools strongly preferred
+ Ability to build rapport with clients/talent and manage expectations
+ Ability to lead and direct others, promote positive work environment and problem solves
+ Exceptional communication, time management, analytical and organizational skills
+ Self-starter who exhibits ownership on assigned tasks and who will push for solutions that solve immediate problems while building towards long-term goals
+ Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment
+ Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization
+ Ability to effectively be flexible in approach, and respond well to pressure
