Job Overview:
The Supervisor coordinates the daily operation of the admitting section of the Patient Access Services department and provides support to staff and encourages a sense of ownership in their work processes.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business or the equivalent in experienceExperience: 5-7 years of health care or health related experience with concentration in automated registration processes and interaction with managed care industry, with a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experienceUnderstanding of automated data systems, along with basic knowledge of the organizations structure of a healthcare facility
Essential Functions:
Creates an environment that enables the department to fulfill its mission and meet or exceed its goalsMaintain payor relationships and negotiation for individual patients with insurance company’s and or their respective managed care organizationsWorks closely with therapist, clinicians, and physicians to ensure that patients receive necessary treatment in a timely fashionCoordinates the daily activities of the Patient Access Services staffAssures appropriate coverage through work schedules and maintaining request for time offTrains, reviews performance and retrains as needed to ensure staff competencyAssist Director of Patient Access Services with HR activities within the departmentAssist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services to meet customer expectations
