A strong leader who can coach, mentor, and guide a team to meet performance goals?Analytical and strategic in your approach to solving complex problems?As the Supervisor, Collections, reporting to the Manager, Billing Client Services & Collections, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the collections team to ensure timely and effective recovery of outstanding receivables. This includes coaching team members, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and implementing strategies to improve collection rates and reduce delinquency.
A Day in the Life
Supervise and lead a team of collection specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.Monitor daily collection activities to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.Develop and implement collection strategies to maximize recovery and minimize bad debt.Analyze collection data and prepare regular reports on team performance, aging accounts, and recovery trends.Handle escalated collection issues and negotiate payment arrangements with customers as needed.Collaborate with billing, customer service, and legal teams to resolve account discrepancies.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to debt collection (e.g., FDCPA).Recommend process improvements and system enhancements to streamline operations.Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.3+ years of experience in collections, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role preferred.Strong knowledge of collection laws and best practices.Excellent communication, influencing, and conflict resolution skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SAP S/4 HANA preferred.Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.Strong organizational and time management skills.The hiring base salary range for this position is $76,300 to $104,900 annually. Actual compensation within this range will depend on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, internal equity, and market alignment. This disclosed salary range is applicable only to candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
