Superintendent - Bussing

The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. 

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role:

This role covers a broad range of duties including but not limited to: Supervision of Bussing Team Deliverables and staffing, Rostering, Driving, Cleaning, Basic Maintenance, Safety Compliance/Checks, and Customer Services. This position is also responsible for the wellbeing of all project personnel whilst they are in transit.

Qualifications:

White Card Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver’s License First Aid Certificate – Current Snow and Ice Driving Certification

 

Experience:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in driving HR vehicles Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a similar role Minimum 3 years’ experience in logistics, transport and people management Experience driving in the Monaro or Snowy Region – preferred

 

Required Competencies:  

Sound knowledge of local WHS standards and regulations Demonstrates a positive “can-do” attitude. Demonstrate initiative and creative problem-solving skills Practical knowledge and understanding of computers and Microsoft software packages. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to implement and follow through on multiple issues and to achieve productive results Sound interpersonal skills Ability to work to deadlines and targets and can prioritise tasks under pressure Good organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail The ability to work quickly, effectively, and positively in a demanding environment             Exceptional Customer Service

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

High level of safety awareness, compliance & communication is required for any personnel undertaking this role. Complete site safety procedures as designated by our HSE team for all project/site personnel – e.g. Take 5’s, Hazobs & any other project requirements, Compliances Ensure a visual walkaround is conducted during vehicle prestart to check for damage, fluids and leaks, wheels and tire condition, mirrors and windscreen. Collect Vehicle prestart each Sunday and send to FGJV Safety Undertake the weekly safety, registration checks as designated by project HSE team Ensure that the team adheres to all bus schedules, updates and changes as required to suit the workforce and RnR Schedules Maintain & promote health and safety in the workplace Maintain effective working relationships within the General Services landscape and the workforce users. To ensure all Project Policies and procedures are adhered to. To participate in all team meetings, pre-starts and training that is required by all Site personnel To carry out all other duties as requested by the manager Organization of shuttle personnel Ensure servicing of buses is carried out Efficient use of staff during the day, cleaning, refuelling and shuttles Liaising with external contractors (Go Zero) when changes or emergencies arise Ensure buses are kept clean Ensure buses are kept fuelled Update bus board with issues to be addressed at service Ensure inbound and outbound RnR runs as per project direction Check bussing schedule daily for numbers of arrivals and departures to ensure adequate buses sent Maintaining of rosters. Ensure coverage of both internal and external accommodation Reporting of incidents. Take photos and attach Vehicle Incident Report Record of bus utilisation for external companies (SHL, or other subcontractors needing bussing for a day) Ensure weekly JHA completed on Mondays
