SunTrax Chiller Operator/Technician - Auburndale, FL

This position will be responsible for overseeing the operation of the Trane Chiller system at the SunTrax Test Facility for Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. As a Chiller Technician, you will be responsible for performing operations diagnostics, repair, and start-up on a new dual Trane CVHG0485 water cooled chiller system. In this position you will establish and maintain a positive relationship with both internal and external customers. The position also requires monitoring and documentation of the operation of the chilled water system to 5 other buildings on site. The Technician will also coordinate Preventive Maintenance programs and unscheduled maintenance for the entire SunTrax HVAC system including 114 different units/systems including chilled water fan coil units, chilled water fresh air make up units, mini split systems, roof top unit and mini split systems over the SunTrax campus. The technician would be expected to operate independently and have the necessary initiative to meet the expectations of the position. The technician must be knowledgeable in the Trane operating program and able to trouble shoot and adjust programming as needed. Familiarity with the Honeywell operation system is also a plus. Position Responsibilities * Daily monitoring and documentation of chiller operations including * Coordination of chemical supplies and chemical make up * Cooling tower operational maintenance * Monitoring and recording operations of various buildings for proper HVAC operations * Coordinating the HVAC preventive maintenance program * Coordinating service calls for unscheduled maintenance * Coordinating various warranty issues for new construction * Complete daily monitoring of all HVAC equipment to ensure proper operations and climate control is maintained throughout the SunTrax campus. * Provide daily updates as required to the Site Facility Manager * Coordinate with equipment manufacturers to resolve issues as needed * Ability to manage various maintenance contracts. * Be assigned On-Call status for emergency calls from Turnpike Operations Center for up to one week per month, during which assigned time, * Must respond to a "call to report" at an agreed upon telephone number, and When called, must immediately report to a work location and assist in returning the facility to safe operation. * Provide additional support to Facilities Maintenance for miscellaneous efforts as directed by management. Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and we’ll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the world’s most challenging Operations Management projects, together. #OMFS #BIA #OurJacobs #BoldlyMovingForward #ChallengeAccepted • Valid Florida driver's license with no major infractions • High school diploma or equivalent • 10 years of experience with chillers and associated equipment • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC building systems • Ability to work in the field and perform inspections in various weather conditions, including ability to climb ladders and work at heights. • Certification of a 40-hours Occupation Safety Health Administration (OSHA) course or ability to obtain within 6 months. • Ability to lift 50 pounds. • Have and maintain a professional image • Flexibility to response to emergency situations at the site on weekends and off hours. • Excellent communication skills Ideally, here’s what you will also have: • Associates degree or equivalent from an HVAC trade school or applicable experience Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements. Additional demands may involve a specific level of dexterity, grip strength, climbing and cardiorespiratory demands. The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals.
