Systems Engineering Technician Student
Position Summary
The Systems Engineering Technician (Student) is responsible for supporting Systems Engineering in the teardown of Lab facilities and projects at the Chrysalis location and the rebuild at the new facilities in the Palladium Drive location. These Lab projects are largely defined as communication and control systems encompassing RF, digital, network and analog sub systems.
The Systems Engineering Technician (Student) will ensure project work is executed, monitored and controlled in terms of adherence to risk management, and quality of deliveries. As required, the candidate will participate in activities as directed by their Supervisor.
The environments the candidate will generally be at the Thales facilities, both at Chrysalis and Palladium Dr, Ottawa. Normal work will be within a Lab environment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The expectations from Systems Engineering Technologist are as follows:
Ensure all work is carried-out in accordance with company practices and procedures.Ensure all work is completed in a safe mannerMaintain control of integration tools, test equipment and work area.Identify risks and communicate those risks to Supervisor.Work in a team environment and independently.Minimum Requirements
High School diplomaEnglish essentialGood level oral and written communication skills required for report writingCan read and understand electrical, mechanical drawings and technical documentHands on experience on troubleshooting, integration and configuration and testing, cabling, network & electronics systemsExperience in the use of common electrical test equipment, including DMM, Oscilloscope, etc.Experience in the use of common hand and electrical toolsPersonal Competencies Required

Experience in mechanical or electrical systemsExperience with varied operating systems and technical software such as LabviewPhysical Demands
Onsite work: > 80%, installation and removals, documentation. Some lifting required. Some ladder work required.Special Position Requirements
