Summer Intern – Powder Frontline Leader intern
Leadership is a key part of our business. As a Powder Frontline Leader Intern, you will be reporting to the Department Supervisor. Frontline Leaders are responsible for being a leadership resource to team members, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment, this is the role for you. Successful candidates will have some prior experience in leadership.

What You Will Do:
Production team leaders can be found on-site offering leadership skills and coaching to team members for activities such as manufacturing, processing parts, operating machines, packaging products, unloading, and more!Instruct your teams on the proper use of safety equipment and emergency procedures should they be necessary at any point during the production process.Responsible for meeting quality assurance standards as set by industry programs, such as ISO and Six Sigma.Responsible for maintaining regular communication with cross-functional departments, such as distribution and engineering, to plan and execute production goals efficiently.Encourages team effort and supportive attitudes between team members.Problem solving! You will become a trained problem solver to continuously improve our processes and help develop team members to become problem solvers.What You Need to Succeed:
Pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline.Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, leadership on school or work projects, etcAbility to establish and maintain effective work relationshipsSolid written and verbal communication as well as conflict resolution skillsOrganized with a strong sense of urgencyAbility to work effectively in a team environment and in independent situations, and exercise good judgment to reach sound conclusionsAbility to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.Ability to read, interpret, and perform from various documents, including method sheets, assembly drawings, production reports, safety rules, blueprints, printed shop schedules, Kanban cards/boards, operating maintenance instruction and procedure manuals, etc.Ability to properly identify components and gain extensive parts knowledgeEffective listening, time management and creative problem-solving techniques A desire to learn, grow and develop by working on projects that will impact Allegion’s business and customersRegardless of your degree, Allegion is a great place to begin your career.
