About the Program As a Summer Associate, you will have an opportunity to participate in a full-time, 11-week summer internship program with a world-renowned health care provider, whose hospitals are consistently ranked on U.S. News & World Report’s Annual Honor Roll of America’s Best Hospitals. The Summer Associates Program is a highly competitive, compensated summer internship for college students interested in pursuing a career in Information Technology. Whatever your interest in Information Technology is – highly technical to non-technical spaces and everything in between – the IT Summer Associates Program is the place for you! Our program spans multiple UPMC divisions, such as our Corporate Services, Health Services (hospitals and clinical spaces), and Insurance Services (Health Plan) divisions. In the past, IT Summer Associates have worked in areas such as (but not limited to) information security, enterprise architecture, custom application development, project management, coding and testing, infrastructure, Electronic Health Record (EHR) support and strategic planning. The start date for this program is June 2026. Wherever your placement, Summer Associates have the opportunity to network with UPMC Executives, give back to the Pittsburgh community through the Program service events, receive mentorship, learn through hands-on training and real-world experience, and most importantly, work on projects that make an impact on patient care and the future of healthcare. This role provides in-person, hybrid, and remote work (dependent on summer placement), but highly encourages candidates to be located in Pittsburgh for the summer to participate in the full scope of the Summer Associate Program. + Current junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a target graduation date between December 2026 and Spring of 2027 preferred (current sophomores are welcome to apply, but preference is given to juniors) + Majoring in computer science, information systems, health information systems, or related field required + Cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred + Availability to participate in the Summer Associates Program full-time from June to August 2025 for approximately 11 weeks with minimal absence + Preference will be given to candidates that have demonstrated leadership through their studies, employment, or extracurricular activities + Willingness to be located in the Pittsburgh area preferred Required Documents to Upload at Time of Application: + Resume + Transcripts (unofficial or official transcripts are accepted) + Please note: Transcripts can be uploaded in the additional documents portion of the application Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances (to be acquired after offer acceptance and before start date – we will provide instructions on how to obtain): + Act 34 + Other clearances may be required dependent on rotation placement Recruitment Timeline Expectations* + Beginning of August – End of October ( _or until all positions are filled_ ):  Application Open + September – October:  Video Interviews Conducted + October - November: First and Second Round Interviews Conducted + November – December:  Final Selections _*Subject to change._ _**Please ensure that you check your email address used during the application process for any application status updates._ Interested in Learning More?
