Suitability Officer- Annuities
Job Description An employer is looking for a Suitability Officer focused within annuities to join their team in Shelton, CT. This person will join the newly created "brainchild" of two well established private equity firms--this new company will be focused on the annuity space. The Suitability Officer will report into the Chief Compliance Officer and will lead the firm's suitability and best interest program, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards such as NAIC Model, Reg BI, and state-specific rules. He/she will establish and oversee suitability reviews of annuity applications, communicating best interest obligations to producers, producer training programs/materials, suitability review forms, and annual reporting to state regulators and senior leadership. This person will analyze trends to identify any gaps, risk exposure, or improvement opportunities, and will serve as the SME in exams, audits, or inquiries related to suitability and sales practices. The Suitability Officer will partner closely with legal, operations and external teams such as insurance producers. We're looking for a self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and wants to put a stamp on the suitability practice of this fast-growing annuities company! Compensation for this role is 100-130k per year annually plus bonus. Compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
