Job Title: SUE Helpers

Job Description

We are seeking two entry-level SUE Technicians who have experience in either subsurface utility engineering or surveying. These individuals will receive training and guidance to excel in their roles.

ResponsibilitiesLocate, review, and research job locations to identify landmarks, physical objects, and significant land changes affecting the survey.Supervise the survey crew, evaluate priorities, and coordinate work efforts effectively.Ensure the standard of work performed and derive necessary field calculations.Maintain instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy in measurements and conformity to regulations and standards.Coordinate survey findings with engineering personnel, clients, and other stakeholders.Research previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, and other records to gather necessary data.Determine methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control.Keep accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe work performed.Complete daily logs and expense reports diligently.Complete safety forms and ensure crew members adhere to safety procedures.Consult with computer operators and review the final production of work performed.Essential SkillsFamiliarity with commonly used surveying terms and survey field equipment.Proficiency in operating survey equipment such as Total Station/Data Collector, Level, and GPS methods.High School diploma or GED.At least 2 years of survey experience.Willingness to travel.Proficiency with survey equipment (total stations and GPS).Experience working outdoors regularly, preferably in extreme conditions.Ability to work on a vacuum excavation truck for utility locating.Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.Ability to pass a drug test.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in subsurface utility engineering (utility designating & locating) preferred but not required.Good technical skills.Behavioral traits of being process-oriented, steady, helpful, honest, trustworthy, adaptable, analytical, and a problem solver.Likes working alone when required, methodical, consistent, detail-oriented, precise, dislikes mistakes, and appreciates structure.Work Environment

The position is based out of the Raleigh, NC office, with the majority of the work conducted in the field. The role may require travel within the region (NC, SC, VA), and accommodations will be provided if necessary. The primary workload is within a daily commute, but travel expectations are set at 60%.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
