Substitute Teacher
Job Title: Substitute Teacher (Earn up to $127 per day!!) Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities: + Contribute to the effective team management of behavior of students in assigned class, and to the implementation of Individual Education Plans. + Assure that methods of intervention with students are employed in a therapeutic manner and are responsive to individual student's Individual Education/Treatment Plan. + Assure that necessary information regarding student is communicated to involved staff in a timely manner. + Support and enhance teacher's instructional efforts by providing individual and small group tutoring. Assist teacher in preparation of curriculum materials. + Perform other duties (such as maintaining decorative bulletin boards, organizing and supervising special activities, providing transportation of students as needed, assisting in outreach to parents) as assigned. + Maintain thorough and timely documentation of significant incidents. + Substitute employees can fill roles of Teacher, Teacher Aide, 1:1 Aide, and Crisis Staff + Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree + Ability to build rapport with youth based on healthy boundaries, effective communication and mutual respect + Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, compassion, patience, and active listening + Ability to effectively work with individuals from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds, beliefs, customs, and lifestyles + Ability to physically restrain if required Preferred Qualifications + Demonstrated experience working with youth in professional or volunteer capacity We want to emphasize that the preferred qualifications are not required and that we are committed to helping our future colleagues develop these preferred skills.
