Applications are continuously being accepted for this position and may be used to fill vacancies which may occur within the GST BOCES Region PER-DIEM / TEMPORARY – HOURLY POSITION + Perform all duties associated with the development and implementation of the trade + Assist the Administrator and Program Specialist/Coordinator in maintaining state-of-the-art curriculum + Prepare class lessons and lab/shop/clinic projects for the practical application of the curriculum + Maintain accurate records of attendance and student progress + Prepare tests and performance evaluations for students at the completion of each unit of instruction + Provide for supplies needed in program—textbooks, supplies, material, equipment necessary for the implementation of the program + Work with Adult Education support staff in meeting the placement needs, instructional needs, and employment needs of each student + Become knowledgeable of the Council on Vocational Education’s requirements to maintain GST BOCES’ accreditation status + Establish and/or maintain the member list for the program’s Advisory Committee and ensure that the Council on Occupational Education’s requirements regarding the Committee are met + Establish and/or maintain contacts within the local business community to ensure conformity with current and meaningful curriculum, practical skills, and business hiring practices + Perform other duties as assigned by the program coordinator Job Qualifications Two to five years’ experience working in a specific occupational area with a Cosmetology License + Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and electronic), along with a positive outlook and disposition required. + Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with the students and peers, is essential. + Adapts easily to the learning style of each student to promote success. + Accountable, efficient, and effectively works as part of the team.
