Job Description
This position is based in Oakland, CA, and requires frequent onsite presence. It is a W-2 contract role within the utilities, energy, and power systems industry. The role focuses on strategic planning, asset integration, and front-end implementation of substation projects.
ResponsibilitiesSupport long-term substation planning aligned with the Integrated Grid Planning framework.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess substation capacity, reliability, and modernization needs.Contribute to the development of substation strategies that support DER integration, electrification, and grid resilience.Apply project management standards to ensure planning consistency and quality.Participate in stakeholder meetings and provide technical input on substation planning scenarios.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.5+ years of experience in substation engineering or planning.Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior experience with PG&E is strongly preferred.Familiarity with PG&E standards.Work Environment
The role may be remote, hybrid, or in-office, depending on project requirements and company policies.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $75.00/hr.
