Join us in Kirklees as a Substance Misuse Nurse, be part of a great service with a diverse range of Specialists all working together to improve the health and wellbeing of people using drugs or alcohol.

 

As a Substance Misuse Nurse, working with Change Grow Live in Kirklees you’ll be joining an experienced Clinical team of 12 Substance Misuse Nurses and Prescribers, Speciality Doctor, Consultant Psychiatrist, Nursing Associate and Health Care Assistants. We are a large, supportive service with a wide range of other Specialist roles including Social Work and Mental Health.

 

Where: Dewsbury

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hrs per week

Full Time Salary: £37,184.90 - £43,384.61 (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time) 

 

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. 

 

Responsibilities

About us:

We offer one to ones and appraisals, monthly clinical supervision, reflective practice, monthly CPD time, national forums to support development, structured diaries to support work life balance and a weekly wellbeing hour to make sure you can do something that benefits your health or wellbeing. We support revalidation and pay for your annual NMC fee, and provide access to excellent training programmes including the RCNi learning platform. Our pay scales are aligned to agenda for change with an annual increment on the anniversary of your start date plus an annual cost of living review.

 

We are open Tuesdays to Thursdays until 8pm to support patients who are in employment so the role will involve agreed late nights with early finish/late start during the week to promote a work life balance. Tuesday mornings are protected time for the whole service to support development and team meetings (in addition to your CPD). This is not a high pressured role, we want our teams to be healthy and well to support our patients to recover in the best possible way.

 

Please note this role is on site daily delivering clinical interventions and WFH is not possible. But we do offer flexible start and finish times to work around family life.

About the role:

 

The role has recently developed and includes all of our new clinical offer to patients:

 

Alcohol assessment, developing treatment plans and supporting community detoxification. Fibroscanning Delivering Buvidal clinics (long acting Buprenorphine injections)BBV testing, Vaccinations and support to access Hep C treatmentWound Care clinics

 

Phlebotomy will be added to the role shortly.  

 

This is a great opportunity to further develop clinical skills within a large and supportive clinical team. Our clinic buildings are all renovated, modern, positive places to work and we will be moving into community delivery shortly to give greater access to our offer in the more rural communities. 

 

About you: 

 

First level registered nurse with recent relevant post qualification experience and a current PIN Relevant recent experience of working within drug and alcohol treatment (desirable but not essential) Sound and demonstrable knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions Ability to assess and recovery plan service users and formulate written  
reports, as necessary. Clinical auditing skills to inform evaluation of the service and identify areas for development. Employ a professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude towards  
service users and all stakeholders. An understanding of the importance of professional integrity in relationships with service users, peers, and other relevant professionals
