The Subject Matter Expert (SME) will use knowledge of US Navy vessels for aiding the design, manufacture, and deployment of training and simulation hardware systems. This position will support the engineering design team to ensure the fidelity and accuracy of the training device(s) to best represent the solution for the sailors in training. Able to translate the customer’s requirements into real world scenarios to ensure the voice of the customer is understood and communicated. Additionally, be aware of and manage classification markings and requirements to ensure compliance with data integrity.

Provide guidance and insight for hardware system designWork with the customer and subcontractors to ensure common understanding of system requirements and designCoordinate with all engineering functions to ensure common understanding of system requirements and designProvide leadership and customer perspective for system design and test activitiesWork with program, product and functional management to support technical direction and ensure that the training system meets requirements.Support, develop, and maintain customer relationshipsSupport external partners and subcontractors / vendors to develop/define system requirements and technical capabilitiesProvide program proposal development supportQualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum 4 years of experience with nuclear submarine reactor control, propulsion and power generation systems, preferably as a member of the US Navy in a technical and/or management roleNavy Nuclear Experience operating a Virginia-class submarine propulsion plantNavy Nuclear Experience during which specific qualifications must have been obtained for a minimum of 24 months - Engineering Watch Supervisor or Engine Room SupervisorProven ability to develop innovative solutions both individually and as part of a teamStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences including peers, management and customersStrong MS-Office toolset skillsPreferred Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Engineering, Math or other STEM fieldMinimum 8 years’ experience in an engineering environmentNuclear Machinists Mate or Nuclear Electricians MateKnowledge of military simulator/training devices, current systems engineering methods, practices, and technologiesExperience with the development of proposals, including ability to identify, accurately scope and estimate new efforts as needed, development of technical volumes, basis of estimates, rationale, and other supporting documentationExperience developing effective presentation materials and documentation for internal and customer-directed presentationsComputer Aided Design (especially Solidworks or CREO)Windchill toolset experienceSecurity Responsibilities

All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Must be able to perform normal office duties (sitting for long periods at a desk and in technical meetings)Must be able to travel CONUS and to International sites for extended periodsShould be familiar with and be able to operate simulation training devices such as: full flight motion devices, maintenance training devices, entertainment devices and fixed base training devices.
