Position Summary:
As SME of Finance Operations, your role will involve working with a large group of individuals responsible for timely and accurate transactional processing. The primary objective is to achieve all operational targets, while ensuring adherence to Service level agreements (SLAs).
The role would suit a candidate with excellent rapport building ability and stakeholder management skills. Experience in a similar SME position in a Finance Operations function and passion to achieve critical metrics are crucial to fully grasp the complexity of the role.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for an end-to-end Finance Operations process.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide subject matter expertise to guide the setup of efficient workflows and procedures.Regularly analyse data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and potential risks of operations against key performance indicatorsCollaborate with key internal partners in the region such as finance, sales, and customer service teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.Arrange and lead internal and external customer meetings to address and resolve issues related to Accounting Operations.Consistently meet assigned targets and fulfil Service Level Agreements (SLAs).Ensure the performance of all tasks is carried out in accordance with company policies, internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.Additional tasks include:Engage with the GPO organization, IT and external enabling technology software supplier where required to escalate any system related issues.Collaborate effectively with Internal and External Audit teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of testing procedures.Deputize for Manager where required.Undertake other projects and responsibilities as assigned.Be the primary point of contact within the department for colleagues seeking assistance with operational inquiries.Support with the creation and update of process documentation and training materials for complex processes, as needed.Train and mentor new employees joining the department.Other additional duties or tasks may be assigned periodically by the Line Manager.Skills & Qualifications Required:
Skills:This position interacts with various levels of internal and external customers, and therefore effective and confident communication skills are required to effectively address issues, provide updates and lead successful customer negotiations.
Proven attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated proficiency in collaborating effectively with a wide range of people to achieve common goals.
Ability to work independently in order to resolve complex issues and perform first and second level customer concerns.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Strong organisational and time management skills to ensure prioritisation and timely completion of tasks and efficiency in handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Effective problem-solving capabilities, and strong analytical abilities.
Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Willingness to train and mentor newcomers.
Good understanding of the process improvement methodology.
SME level working knowledge of relevant Accounting Operations systems, policies and procedures.
Qualifications and experience:Fluent in English.
University or College degree / degree in accounting or finance is an advantage.
Functional process expertise within Accounting Operations.
SME system knowledge in multiple ERPs (example: Oracle E1, SAP) and third-party enabling software is essential to perform this role effectively and efficiently.
Excellent digital literacy and knowledge of the Microsoft Office software is required (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
