Subcontract Administrator
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Subcontract Administrator to join our team in El Segundo, California. In this Contract-to-permanent role, you will play a critical part in managing supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with subcontracting requirements, and supporting purchasing activities. This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to meet production schedules and project goals. Responsibilities: • Build and nurture strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and project support. • Collaborate with internal departments to facilitate vendor support and maintain subcontract schedules. • Ensure vendors comply with all contractual and regulatory requirements. • Provide guidance to engineering, quality, accounting, production, and project management teams to meet project milestones. • Monitor and report vendor performance metrics to management. • Oversee shipments and coordinate logistics to optimize delivery schedules and minimize costs. • Reconcile vendor invoices and maintain accurate purchasing records. • Prepare documentation for compliance audits, including Buy America requirements. • Maintain comprehensive records and generate reports to support organizational compliance. • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support supplier relations and project demands. Requirements • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in diverse cultural settings. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the rail industry, preferably in purchasing or contract management. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Access. • Capable of working independently and managing tasks with minimal supervision. • Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines. • Ability to analyze processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements. • Familiarity with technical concepts and engineering documentation; experience with technical drawings is a plus. • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience in purchasing or contracts.
