The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth, who will become productive, law-abiding citizens. We are a seeking motivated and dependable student to serve as Student Worker–WAE at its Probation and Parole Office. This part-time position offers hands-on experience in a professional justice setting, supporting administrative operations and gaining exposure to juvenile justice practices. Ideal candidates are organized, eager to learn, and committed to public service.
Job Duties and Other Information
Job duties:
The Student Worker will play a valuable role in assisting Juvenile Probation Officers and administrative staff with the supervision, rehabilitation, and case management of youth involved in the juvenile justice system. Working under direct supervision, the Student Worker will perform a range of administrative, observational, and support duties that enhance the daily operations of the probation unit and contribute to its mission of promoting accountability, growth, and public safety.
Position-Specific Details:
Work Location: This vacancy is located at the Lafayette Regional Office in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
Appointment Type: This is a part-time/WAE position
Work Schedule:24 hours/weekly
