Job Summary
Student Health and Wellness is hiring students to serve as Student Wellness Ambassadors to help foster a culture of holistic well-being at UM-Flint. Working closely with the Wolverine Well-being Educator, Ambassadors will serve as peer educators committed to promoting positive lifestyle choices and supporting the well-being of their fellow students.
Ideal candidates are students passionate about health and wellness and eager to make a positive impact on campus. Ambassadors will receive training in peer education and will be involved in promoting wellness through outreach, event planning, collaboration with campus and community partners, and connecting students to appropriate support resources.
Responsibilities*Complete training requirement to serve as a peer educatorAssist the Wolverine Well-being Educator in developing and delivering presentations, workshops and tabling events on various wellness related topics (e.g. nutrition, sleep hygiene, mental health, sexual health, substance abuse prevention, financial wellness, social connectedness)Assist with development and distribution of health promotion materials (e.g. flyers, social media content, digital campaigns)Actively participate in campus-wide events (e.g. Week of Wellness, Resource fairs, Orientation) to promote wellness initiativesCollaborate with student organizations, campus departments, and community partners to support programs and eventsEffectively communicate information about campus and community wellness resourcesAssist students in navigating and accessing appropriate support servicesSupport the evaluation of wellness programs by gathering student feedback and contributing to ongoing improvement effortsDemonstrate a personal commitment to well-being and contribute to fostering a campus culture of wellnessRequired Qualifications*UM-Flint undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing
