Student Success Coordinator

Job Description Summary The Student Success Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting student achievement by actively contributing to the Academic Support and Career Support programs. The Academic Support program focuses on enhancing student success and addressing identified needs, while the Career Support program aids students in developing effective strategies for residency placement. Job Description Position Details The Student Success Coordinator is responsible for executing assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner and has responsibility for, but not limited to, the following: Academic Support In collaboration with the Senior Assistant Dean of Student Advancement and the Director of Academic Support Services, the Student Success Coordinator will: + Manage students in the Clinical Integration Capstone Remediation Program. + Track at-risk students and assist in developing appropriate support plans. + Provide logistical support for the tutoring program. + Implement and coordinate the use of resources to help students develop effective study strategies. + Offer individual and/or group counseling to students with identified needs and concerns. + Assist students in creating an effective board preparation plan using evidence-based methodology. + Cultivate positive working relationships with students, faculty, and staff. + Publish agenda and minutes for Preclinical Competency Committee and the Clinical Competency Committee meetings. + Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Assistant Dean of Student Advancement and the Associate Dean of Medical Education. Career Support In collaboration with the Senior Assistant Dean of Student Advancement and the Director of Career Development, the Student Success Coordinator will: + Assist in the review and upload of student records and required documents into application portals for residency and fellowship applications. + Analyze Match data, providing reports and recommendations regarding student competitiveness for each specialty. + Assist students in crafting a well-integrated CV and personal statement that accurately reflects their motivation to pursue their career choice within the context of curricular and extra-curricular activities. + Review CVs and personal statements, offering constructive feedback and edits as needed. + Contribute to the production of a finalized Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) for each student's residency application. + Provide logistical support for the Pathway to Residency course. + Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Assistant Dean of Student Advancement and the Associate Dean of Medical Education. Position Qualifications: Eligible candidates for the Student Success Coordinator position must: + Possess a bachelor's degree in a related field. + Demonstrate excellent communication skills. + Exhibit the ability to problem-solve various situations that may arise with a student. + Demonstrate the ability to understand complex relational situations, assess them, and use professional judgment within established guidelines. + Show initiative by being proactive, anticipating needs, and completing tasks accurately. + Have a working knowledge of software and databases, including Microsoft 365. + Possess excellent writing skills for crafting impactful communications, reports, and student documentation. + Effectively use discretion and independent judgment within established guidelines. + Demonstrate the ability to work positively with faculty, staff, and students and promote a positive culture.
