Position Information Position Information Position Availability: Position Title: Student Office Assistant - SLI-TE Requisition Number: 0406073642 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: CA/Student Success Responsibilities: Reporting to the Assistant Director in the Office of Student Leadership, Involvement, and Transition Experiences (SLI-TE), Student Office Assistants will focus on the physical and logistical support that comes from the 4th Floor in Fanton Hall (H) at 72 5th Avenue in support of Registered Student Organizations (RSOs)
The Student Leadership, Involvement, and Transition Experience (SLI-TE) office at The New School supports the university’s educational mission by fostering opportunities for meaningful engagement and connections beyond the classroom. SLI encourages students to actively participate in the university community by joining or starting a student organization, engaging in recreationalactivities, or attending events and programs organized by the Student Activities Board. The SLI office provides numerous opportunities to get involved on campus and enhance a student’s leadership potential.

RESPONSIBILITIES Staff the in-person desk at the SLI-TE Office on the 4th Floor of Fanton Hall by providing customer service to in-person visitors, over the phone, or virtually; Must maintain a confidential work environment. Support student-led events & programs to provide event management support. Examples include supporting check-in, equipment procurement/pick up/drop-off, & decorating of spaces. Assist in the marketing, communication, & promotion of Student-Led programs through the Narwhal Nation platform & other social media platforms. Maintain, organize, inventory, and catalog the Equipment Library and Storage Spaces of the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement across Fanton Hall and the Student Hub. Research and analyze campus-wide resources to increase student awareness and accessibility.
WORK MODE Hybrid/Split – Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely.
SALARY RANGE$16-$19/hr

This position frequently needs to traverse multiple levels of stairs and ladders, position oneself into various levels to reach items, and move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across offices, campus locations, and storage spaces.
