Job Description

As a Student Nurse Extern, you’ll support licensed nurses in providing hands-on care to patients in a hospital setting. You’ll apply what you’re learning in nursing school while gaining valuable real-world experience—always working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Monitor and document patient information; promptly share updates with the RNHelp with procedures, transport supplies/specimens, and follow safety protocolsAssist with daily tasks like hygiene, feeding, and mobility to support patient comfort and independenceRespect patient preferences, cultures, and rights at all timesPractice skills you're clinically trained and approved to performKeep your work area safe, clean, and organizedContribute to a safe, inclusive, and high-quality care environmentProvide age-appropriate care, understanding each patient’s unique physical and emotional needsMaintain a friendly and professional attitude with everyone you interact withFollow all policies, codes of conduct, and compliance training requirements

What You Need to Qualify

Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited associate or bachelor’s nursing programSuccessfully completed nursing fundamentals (classroom and clinical) with documented skills competencyMaintain a minimum 3.0 GPAHold a current BLS certificationProvide proof of continued nursing program enrollment each semesterComplete all required SNE training and competencies within 90 days of hire
