Student Engagement Administrative Coordinator

The Student Engagement Center provides services, support, and co-curricular programs experiences for undergraduate and graduate students. In the Student Engagement Center professionals and student leaders provide educational programs and activities to help students connect to our community, contributing to the larger mission of both HWS and the Division of Campus Life. The Student Engagement Administrative Coordinator works to support an educational, residential, and professional environment where all community members feel valued and respected.
This position will work in the Student Engagement Center that houses two departments: Housing & Residence Life and Student Activities & Greek Life
The Student Engagement Center provides student-facing events, club advising, student governance and manages and maintains a housing system consisting of residence halls, small houses, and apartments. The Student Engagement Administrative Coordinator helps manage the daily operations of the central office, with an enhanced focus on key housing operations responsibilities.
· Serve as the initial point of contact for students visiting and calling the Center, assist in resolutions of concerns or queries, and refer students to appropriate resources .
· Manage phone calls, voicemail messages, and department-wide email inboxes to answer questions from all stakeholders.
· Assist in Housing Operations management, including room key management, budget maintenance, assisting the Assistant Director of Housing Operations with room selection processes, and other assignments.
· Assist with Living Learning Community classroom management, common space support, and independent living residential support.
· Maintain a welcoming and clean central office space through organization and maintenance of the physical space.
· Respond to requests from campus partners for reservations, meetings, and other inquiries.
· Support data management and compile reports regarding student feedback and other assessments.
· Assist with updating and maintaining webpage content.
· Oversee central office tasks including customer service, OneCard printing, assisting with office-wide events, and other general office support
· Participants with division-wide efforts as delegated.
· Other duties as assigned
The primary supervisor for this position will be the Director of Student Activities & Greek Life with indirect support from the Director of Housing & Residence Life and Assistant Director of Housing Operations. Assignments are flexible based on needs within the Center.
Other Information:
This administrative position is non-exempt, full time, 10-month, and benefits eligible position. Typical campus office hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the academic year with a possible shortened workweek during the scheduled summer hours. This position description is not all-inclusive, as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned. Pay range is $22 - $24 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Associate’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
· Experience working in higher education, including an understanding of the residential liberal arts college.
· Ability to work collaboratively within a highly consultative campus culture.
· Possess strong communication skills and be willing to take initiative
· Strong customer service orientation; positive, helpful, resourceful
Preferred Qualifications
+ A proven track record of providing support for students; the ability to build trust and work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners.
· Demonstrated competencies and sensitivity to the concerns and needs of all students, faculty, staff, and administrator populations.
· Detail oriented in communication, writing, and organizational skills in preparing and delivering presentations, written reports, correspondence, proposals, programs, assessments, and other materials for a variety of audiences.
· Demonstrated computer proficiency and the ability to learn required programs such as The Housing Director (THD) and the One Card ID program.
· Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to unique circumstances of others
· Highly reliable, flexible and adaptable
