Reporting to the Assistant Director in the Career Design Center, the Student Employment Coordinator (Career Services Spec II) ensures the proper execution of student employment procedures, facilitates the communication and understanding of federal, state, and institutional policies related to student employment, manages student employment job postings for on-campus and off-campus positions, develops and delivers training for supervisors and student employees, and coordinates the annual Student Employee Appreciation Week.
Hours are typically 8am-5pm with occasional early/late times for career fairs, special events, and EPAF/payroll deadlines.
This position is eligible for hybrid work within the state of Utah.
ResponsibilitiesStudent Employment Management (45%)
Monitors position listings in Aggie HandshakeManages the completion of all Electronic Personnel Action Forms (EPAFs) for student employeesDevelops and implements marketing plans to encourage students to work on campusPlans on-campus employment fairs in fall and spring semestersImplements federal, state, and university policies related to Equal Opportunity Employment for student employment in collaboration with Human ResourcesEnsures the self-disclosure or criminal background check form is completed for each student hireServes as an active member of the Student Employee Handbook Working Group in collaboration with Human ResourcesTracks and reports employment and office statisticsTraining and Development (30%)
Develops and implements relevant training for on-campus supervisors of student employees in collaboration with Human ResourcesProvides professional development training and resources for students based on the NACE career competencies and USU career learning outcomesSupports the Assistant Director to develop and implement professional development opportunities for USU internship coordinatorsStudent Employee Appreciation Week (5%)
Coordinates the nomination and selection process for the Student Employee of the Year awardCollaborates with the Fairs & Events Coordinator to host the annual Career Champions and Student Awards ReceptionPlans and implements activities throughout Student Employee Appreciation WeekSolicits prize donations from local businessesCareer Design Center Administration (20%)

Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of customer service standards expected in a robust high-tech, high-touch career center.Public speaking, presentation, teaching/training, and one-on-one communication skills.Skilled in the use of personal computers and related software applications.Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials, including reports and presentations. Advertised Salary Minimum $44,880; Commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits ADAEmployees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.
