Posting Details Posting Information Requisition 202500261ST Title Student Employee-Student & Family Experience--Assistant Employee Class Student Employee College Work Study Position No Department Office of Student Experience & Retention Division Division of Student Affairs Hours per week 20 Hiring Rate $9 Preferred Student Classification Sophomore/Junior/Senior Nature & Purpose of Position This student position in the Office of Student & Family Experience plays a key role in supporting the university’s efforts to engage parents, families, and supporters of Bearkat students. This position will work to maintain an active and welcoming online presence, assist with recruitment and outreach efforts during high-traffic university events, and serve as a resource to families navigating their students’ college experience.
Key Responsibilities: Monitor and respond to messages and inquiries from parents and supporters in the SHSU engagement platform and email account. Share timely and accurate university updates, deadlines, and event information in the parent/family platform. Promote membership in the SHSU Parents’ Association through recruitment efforts at New Student Orientation sessions and major university events (e.g., New Student Convocation and Family Weekend). Assist with the preparation and distribution of promotional materials and welcome items for new families. Support the planning and logistics for parent- and family-related programming.
