Requisition 202500312ST Title Student Employee-Campus Recreation-Esports Supervisor (Work Study Available) Employee Class Student Employee College Work Study Position Yes Department Campus Recreation Division Division of Student Affairs Hours per week Max of 25 hours per week Hiring Rate Preferred Student Classification Nature & Purpose of Position JOB TITLE: Esports Supervisor (Work Study Eligible) PAY RATE: $10.00 per hour SUPERVISOR: Assistant Director of Intramural Sports & Esports JOB FUNCTION: Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Esports Lab which includes enforcing policies and procedures, overseeing and supervising multiple esports events,practices and matches, and daily communication with student particpants. HOURS: Up to 25 hours per week. Flexible work schedules ( morning, afternoon, and night shifts)DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:· Main point of contact and responsible for assisting up to 100 participants per shift.· Responsible for ensureing program integrity, by supervisng online and inperson esports events.· Provide exceptional customer service to patrons by having strong communication and interacting with everyone in a respectful, cooperative manner.· Maintain a professional appearance and attitude throughout shifts.· Operate and facilitate all activites that take place in the Campus Recreation Esports Lab.· Assist Assistant Director with facility operations that include equipment set up and tear down, cleaning, and participant reports.· Report to authority figures such as graduate assistants, and professional staff.· Assist with other duties as assigned (may result in helping other program areas within Campus Recreation).POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Currently enrolled in 6 or more credit hours at Sam Houston State University Successfully pass the State of Texas criminal background check Completion of SHSU student employee compliance training and any additional trainings required by the department and university

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Able to work on late nights throughout the week Possess a passion for working with people and around Esports Be able to work in an active, crowded, and fast-paced environment Must have an increased focus on being punctual, reliable, and dependable Excellent communication skills and the able to work with a wide variety of personalities Open to constructive feedback while also keeping a positive and upbeat attitude Ability to handle conflict as well as confront patrons in a calm and professional manner Access to highspeed internet. Ability to stream video to twitch via streamlabs. Possess knowledge on Discord moderation, and be able to effectively communicate with students. Other Requirements for the Position This position will require a valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification that must be obtained within 2 weeks of hiring.
