13315BRJob Description: Objective:
To assist existing Quality Team in Steel Surface Inspection systems, data interpretation and correlating with process related defects.
Responsibilities:
+ Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable” Responsible-Steel
requirements are followed.
+ Development and implementation of the surface inspection systems with correlation to BRS and BR2 surface defect criteria and ratings.
+ Assist in the development of the feed forwarding of defects to upstream units, downstream units, and outside processing.
+ Assist Quality, Production, and other personnel as needed in detection, identification, and troubleshooting of quality issues throughout the mill.
+ Assist Supervision as needed per assignments.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in materials/mechanical discipline with strong knowledge in data science or related discipline, with preferred emphasis or background in machine vision and/or machine learning.
+ Strong systems knowledge and understanding with the ability to i nterpret data with process sources,
+ Strong technical and analytical problem- solving abilities,
+ Strong communication and computer skills; ability to work independently and ability to work proactively with other departments
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to work in an office setting with daily tasks in the mill, which could typically involve extreme environments from hot to cold. This position can require long hours.
