Yes County Albany Street Address Swan Street Bldg, Core 3, Floor 1 City Albany State NY Zip Code 12210 Duties Description Under the direction of (IT Specialist 3, SG 23), within the (Chief Technology Office) this position will implement Database Administration tasks. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: -Implements agency-specific requests (Access, DDL) via ITSM ticketing system, in line with ITS Enterprise standards and protocols -Troubleshoots database problems with applicable parties -Follows policy guidelines, standards and training materials -Monitors database activities, including batch loads, queries, transactions -Learns and eventually provides expertise in division-specific utility processes Preferred SkillsKnowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and the principles of database design Experience with client tools such as Oracle SQL Developer and/or SQLPlus and/or DBArtisan Experience with troubleshooting and resolving Oracle database problems Unix System Administration and/or scripting experience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Self-motivated, thriving on a job well done and having the independence, initiative, and desire to achieve Excellent multi-tasking skills; ability to prioritize and perform a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills Ability to communicate orally and in writing with diverse groups Excellent customer service skills; commitment to provide exceptional customer service Having a willingness and ability to quickly learn new skills and techniques Minimum Qualifications • Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States• Must be 18 years of age or older• Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students) OR currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C. Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis.
