Position Information
Job Description Summary
We’re looking for a student worker to help with office and facility support at Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture. This is a great chance to gain hands-on experience and be part of a team.
Essential Duties/Tasks
Office Support
+ Staffs front desk and is the first point of contact for customers and visitors.
+ Sends/receives e-mails for the institute.
+ Answers main phone line.
+ Orders/organizes supplies.
+ Stocks/cleans supply room, kitchen area, and conference rooms.
+ Assists with expense reports.
+ Processes invoices.
+ Runs errands.
+ Files/copies/scans/faxes.
Facility Support
+ Is familiar with operating material handling equipment.
+ Is familiar with hand tools and battery powered equipment.
+ Moves lab equipment as needed.
+ Patrols outside areas for trash especially after Campus events.
+ Provides access to contractors and visitors upon managers' absence.
+ Provides assistance with unloading large equipment packages.
+ Assembles support equipment as needed.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
+ Currently enrolled at TAMU, Blinn or Rellis Campus
Required Licenses and Certifications:
+ Valid Driver’s License
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Familiar with Microsoft Office.
+ Professional communications including e-mails.
+ Customer service attitude.
+ Exceptionally organized.
+ Team Player.
+ Ability to establish effective working relationships.
+ Ability to lift or move light, moderate, and heavy objects. Ability to exert force.
+ Computer, phones, general equipment, pallet jacks, and power washer.
+ Must be able to work on the following days Tuesday, Thursdays, and Fridays and according to school schedule.
+ Work beyond normal office hours and/or on weekends as needed.
