The Challenge

Security Technical Support Technicians are to perform technical skills and diagnostic work on a variety of Security technical systems. They will install, commission, maintain, problem-solve, and repair security electronic equipment, in accordance with the asset maintenance management strategy, and to ensure service levels, performance outputs/requirements and agreements are met which effectively contribute to the security and protection of Namdeb's resources and the achievement of the Security department's goals and objectives.

Qualifications / NQF Equivalent:

Grade 12 Certificate or National Senior Certificate (20 points over 5 subjects, and an E in English) National Diploma for Technicians, N6, T3, S4 or equivalentTwo years experience as a qualified Technician in an industrial, Electronics, Telecommunications and/or Surveillance environment.Valid code B/BE driver’s license (Manual Transmission with two-year driving experience) Computer Literacy: Basic MS Office package.Experience in the maintenance and support of Security Systems Management, IM Server environment, IP & wireless networks, CCTV systems, UPS and Solar power systems, Electronics, Access Control equipment, X-ray and baggage scanners, Security safe systems, Telecommunications and/or, Surveillance environment are highly recommended for this role.Supervisory experience, project management exposure and/or registration with a professional body will be added advantages.
