**A little more about your role…**
You will be required to take personal responsibility for contributing to organisational transformation and changes in ways of working, maximising the benefits and efficiencies for both internal and external customers, including the promotion and use of self–service to achieve maximum cost effectiveness. The postholder is expected to work to the Lincolnshire County Council Core Values and Behaviours and to carry out the duties in accordance with Lincolnshire County Council policies.
You will undertake the design of complex infrastructure projects and programmes of work. Responsible for all aspects of project delivery and execution from inception to completion, including procurement and contract management. To supervise on site these projects during construction. Asset management of highway infrastructure, including asset-related programmes of work. Provide technical expertise in a specialist technical area within LCC. Maintain and promote TSP as a centre of technical excellence.
+ Supervising members of the team (including when they are working remotely), including allocating duties and checking outputs
+ Liaison with external teams in other offices to give technical advice to
+ Ensuring technical competencies of supervised staff are developed
+ Mentoring and development of junior staff, providing guidance and expertise for these staff to fulfil their roles
+ As a professional engineer (see Person Specification), provide technical knowledge in relevant specialism areas, resolving issues for junior.
+ Be experienced in design (including calculations) in the relevant specialism areas, with detailed applied knowledge of relevant standards (eg Eurocodes, DMRB, Manual for Streets, BS5489, SuDS Manual etc.).
+ Feasibility, Design, Supervision of schemes (Scale and Complexity increasing with grade)
+ Asset management in relevant specialist area, including updating and maintaining inventory, in accordance with the Asset Management Plan
+ Carry out topographical surveys, surveys and inspections in specialist area
+ Prepare technical specifications for new, improvement and maintenance works
+ Fulfil delegated Project Manager functions under NEC works contracts
+ Interpret and check designs (including calculations) prepared by others (colleagues and third parties) against national and local standards, regulations and guidance
**What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…**
+ A passion for working on projects that make a real difference to local communities
+ Evidence of being a confident communicator able to convey your point of view and keep stakeholders and colleagues informed.
+ Working towards Incorporated or Chartered status with a professional institution.
+ A civil engineering degree or equivalent
+ A full and clean driver’s licence.
