State Classified HourlyNo Description of Work Unit This section provides a wide variety of trade services to the Colorado State University campus communities. These services include, but are not limited to, installing and maintaining building components such as office furniture, hanging cabinetry and boards, installing and maintaining partition walls and curtains. Other services include outdoor furnishings such as assembly and installation of tables and benches including concrete work and various sporting venue components such as replacing and installing winches, motors and structural framework.Other outdoor items include sign fabrication and installation, equipment operation for items like snow removal, core drilling, saw cutting, street maintenance, etc. Position Summary This is a fully functioning position that performs a variety of trades duties which involves Installation, maintenance, renovation and upkeep of structures, fixtures and building equipment (interior and exterior), asphalt, concrete and roads; Position orders materials and manages work orders. Position also provides special event and sporting event services. Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate in the application materials: Experience Only: + Four (4) years of full-time, relevant experience performing a variety of trade duties which includes some or all of the following: installation, maintenance, renovation and upkeep of structures, fixtures and building equipment, and additional services. OR Education and Experience: + A combination of related education (accredited, non-correspondence, vocational or trades school), formalized apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience involving some or all of the following: installation maintenance, renovation and upkeep of structures, fixtures and building equipment, and services equal to four (4) years.*Please note, unofficial or official transcripts must be attached with this application Substitutions Preferred Qualifications The highly desired candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, abilities, personal characteristics, and experience directly related and critical to this position: + Experience maintaining asphalt, concrete and roads, + Experience working special events and sporting events. + Written and verbal communication + Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems and determine a solution. + Experience with small equipment operation. + Directly related state service experience Essential Job Duties Job Duty CategoryMaintenance and Repair - Building Duty/Responsibility Performs maintenance, repair and installation of building components such as cabinetry, office furniture, partition walls, shelving, miscellaneous boards (marker, chalk, bulletin etc.) and fixed seating, Position assembles, installs and maintains outdoor components such as tables, benches, stair treads and hand rails, concrete structure walls including cap stones, fabricates and installs signage and plaques. This requires the knowledge of anchoring systems and other devices for installation. Percentage Of Time30 Job Duty CategoryMaintenance and Repair - Sporting Venues Duty/Responsibility Provide maintenance, repair and installation in multiple sporting venues such as motorized bleachers,fixed seating, hanging basket framework, winches and motors (electrical wiring and setting limits), including structural inspections. Assembling, installing and maintaining a variety of goals (football goal posts, soccer goals, basketball backboards etc.) and installing floor decals that require testing and meeting NCAA specifications. This requires training in vertical rope techniques for climbing, rigging, repelling and fall protection for working at heights. Percentage Of Time30 Job Duty CategoryAdditional Services Duty/Responsibility Provide a wide variety of additional services such as identifying and ordering materials, customer contact and estimating jobs, scheduling jobs and managing work orders. Other items include moving and installing office furniture, non-typical lab equipment (laminar flow hoods Laser tables, growth chambers etc.), highly delicate, heavy and expensive equipment and building mechanical equipment which involves rigging and strenuous lifting requirements.
