ABOUT THE POSITION

Civil/Structural Engineer - Substation / Energy

VHB supports clients throughout the project lifecycle with their generation and delivery needs, bringing decades of experience in the assessment, engineering and design, permitting, mitigation, and compliance services associated with energy infrastructure projects.

 

Responsibilities

Design structures and foundations.Collaborate with multidiscipline internal and external project teams.Develop/review civil/structural engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and specifications.Document and track action items and deliverables.Procure major/minor civil/structural materials and prepare material takeoffs.Monitor and project financial performance.Perform field visits and site inspections.

Skills & Abilities

Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design.Familiarity with design codes (AISC, ACI, ASCE, IBC, NESC, etc.).Experience working on project teams.Ability to manage deliverable and time commitments.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Self-motivated with ability to think critically.Travel occasionally.

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering/Structural or similar3-5 years of professional civil/structural engineering experience Experience with any of the following software a plus: RISA-3D, PLS-CADD, LPILE, & MicroStation/AutoCAD.
