The Stress Team delivers engineering solutions for the customer’s specialist component areas. This role requires a broad knowledge of a range of engineering commodities within gas turbines and/or other aerospace projects and the ability to understand and assess the mechanical integrity of the components under analysis.

JOB REQUIREMENT:

Stress experience on aero gas turbine or naval marine commodities is preferred.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

Delivering design solutions by carrying out structural & thermal analysis of aero engine and/or naval marine componentsLinear/Nonlinear stress analysis of rotating/static components.Ensure stress reports meet the appropriate levels of quality and robustness and confirm that defined requirements are metEnsure that all project stakeholders have the right information at the right time, through pro-active communicationSupport other team members with ongoing/future work packages

Baseline Responsibilities

Technical support and execution for all stress/lifing activities such as: Application of Vibration (Campbell Diagram) analysis, creep analysisApplication of Low cycle fatigue (LCF), High cycle fatigue (HCF), creep, corrosion, erosion and crack propagation assessment of rotating machineryDamage and Tolerance/Melt anomaly methodsSupport thermo-mechanical solutionsContribute to development of best practices and productivity improvements

Work Experience

Experience

Applicants should have a proven background in gas turbines or naval marine applications at component level.
