Zenith is seeking a Strategy Director to join a client-focused team working closely with the Sydney Head of Strategy across working across major retail brands. The role centres on elevating strategic imagination within media planning, guiding planners, and shaping consumer-centric thinking across channels. The successful candidate will bring senior-level media strategy experience, ideally with a creative edge, and be confident in challenging clients to push boundaries. Key responsibilities include driving strategic excellence, crafting compelling campaigns, and contributing to thought leadership initiatives such as the ROI newsletter. Short-term goals involve building client rapport and understanding shopper behaviour, while long-term objectives focus on growing scope, enhancing team reputation, and leveraging cutting-edge tools like Buzz AI. The position offers exposure to a diverse client portfolio, strong collaboration across the Groupe, and opportunities to influence cultural and creative strategy. Responsibilities Provide the overall strategic direction for your clients within the ROI+ approach. Build strong working relationships with Client, Media and Creative Partners & Internal Stakeholders. Apply a deep understanding of the consumer in response to all communication briefs. Translate consumer understanding into actionable, fact-based, communication strategies. Build quality relationships with key internal and external people. Deliver innovative and proactive solutions in problem solving. Create the vision and strategy and then inspire others to work towards it. Deliver excellence in strategic thought leadership. Contribution to the company e.g. pitches, company meeting. Qualifications Understanding and ability to utilise the ‘CX suite’ including CX tracker, Touchpoints, CX tool plus client ‘data hubs’ where available. Utilise traditional (e.g. Roy Morgan, AQX) and new (e.g. Socialtools, Netbase) tools effectively to supplement this research. Create robust, tightly argued, seamless, communications proposals – from a brief to proposed executions. Use of insights to generate inspiring, connections platforms and media executions.
