Strategic Business Planning Manager
The Strategic Business Planning Manager is a high-impact role supporting the VP of Operations in leading strategic planning, operational performance, and digital transformation across a network of 20+ manufacturing plants in North America.
YOUR ROLE
This role is responsible for developing and managing interactive digital platforms that provide real-time visibility into plant-level performance across key areas such as labor, equipment, manufacturing lines, laboratories, customer complaints, and portals. The manager will drive standardization, automation, and data-driven decision-making across engineering, quality, safety, EHS, and manufacturing operations.
In your daily job you will:
Global Operations & Business Planning
- Lead daily and weekly reporting across all plants for:
Engineering: project milestones, launch readiness, resource allocation
Quality: defect rates, audit findings, customer complaints
Safety & EHS: incident tracking, compliance metrics, risk mitigation
Manufacturing KPIs
- Consolidate and analyze performance data across 20+ plants to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Coordinate weekly staff meetings; manage agenda, distribute notes and action items.
- Prepare regional and global presentations for quarterly communications, executive reviews, and strategic planning.
- Support monthly performance tracking and business reviews; consolidate margin improvement packages.
- Prepare monthly CEO communications content from regional inputs.
- Lead special assignments including CPV analysis, data validation, and operational deep dives.
- Develop and maintain interactive performance platforms for plant-level visibility, enabling review by:
Personnel
Equipment
Manufacturing lines
Laboratories
Customer complaints
Customer portals
- Integrate data from ERP (SAP), CRM (Salesforce), MES, and other platforms into centralized dashboards.
- Utilize Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Power BI, Tableau, and other industry-standard tools to automate reporting and analytics.
- Collaborate with IT and data teams to ensure system scalability, security, and compliance.
- Drive digitalization of forecasting processes and monthly business review preparation.
- Develop and maintain 5-year revenue outlooks in collaboration with Commercial and Finance teams.
- Track monthly bookings and support annual bookings target development.
- Analyze and report monthly revenue growth by sales team.
- Model revenue scenarios based on macroeconomic trends and operational inputs.
- Support strategic customer reviews and market share database updates.
- Represent management during internal/external audits (IATF 16949).
- Coordinate audit activities with Customer Satisfaction, EOS, and ECG teams.
- Lead EDS Management Review preparation and participation.
- Ensure compliance with Aptiv and customer-specific requirements.
YOUR BACKGROUND
Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years in the automotive industry, preferably Tier 1 manufacturing
- 3+ years in business planning or operations strategy roles
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (SAP), CRM tools (Salesforce)
- Experience with Visual Basic, Power BI, Tableau, and other automation/reporting tools
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience with wiring or connection systems
- Understanding of electrical/electronic automotive components
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects
- Financial acumen and ability to build business cases
- Experience managing performance across multiple international manufacturing sites
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
