To play a supportive role in shaping the strategic direction of Nedbank Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) by supporting the development, planning, and communication of strategic initiatives that align business goals with market opportunities
Job Responsibilities1. Strategy Planning and Formulation
Support delivery of elements of CIB’s long- and short-term strategy process, as well as strategic projects aligned to cluster goals and market opportunities Design, format, and consolidate content for BU strategies, key strategic themes, and CIB’s overall three-year plan to the Board Support and facilitate brainstorming/working sessions for teams and/or less complex business unit strategies Provide PowerPoint and presentation support to ensure high-quality outputs Support broader team in delivering strategic plan or elements thereof Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across CIB and Group to ensure aligned thinking and enhanced delivery Act as a liaison between CEO’s office, strategy team, and BUs to streamline communication across projects and initiative.2. Strategic Insights
Conduct market intelligence and desktop research to inform strategic planning Provide thought leadership and data-driven insights for strategic projects3. Strategic Communications and Engagement
Support the strategic communications pillar by creating awareness and ensuring consistent messaging of CIB’s overarching strategy Collate messaging for events, induction, and internal/external communications Source/document content for leadership conferences and CIB updates Support CIB’s awards process and manage award entry calendar Work with business units to prepare/submit award entries4. Strategic Performance Management and Reporting
Support Monitoring and Tracking pillar by contributing to development of high-quality reporting and design. Assist with report template design and consistency of formatting. Consolidate content for executive scorecard reporting. Support performance monitoring and reporting through BU submissions. Contribute to Executive and Board reporting: collate inputs, consolidate strategic content for H1/FY analyst presentations, and integrated report Essential Qualifications - NQF Level Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees Preferred QualificationBachelor’s Degree in BSc, BCom, BA, Engineering, or related field
Minimum Experience Level1–3 years in a strategic or analytical environment
