I. Job Summary
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for reducing the overall cost of externally purchased materials, goods and services while maintaining or improving quality and service delivery using the strategic sourcing process to identify and eliminate waste and inefficiencies upstream and downstream in the supply chain for one or more spend categories or subcategories. This role is also responsible in assisting category management for assigned categories or subcategories.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Analyze and understand the company's historical spending patterns for assigned spend categories or subcategories
Focus on retail fuel cards, vendor reltionships and program advancement in addition to managing reporting to mitigate risks and fraud.
Analyze and understand the market for potential solutions to satisfy the requirements identified
Develop sourcing strategies and tactics based on the empirical results of the requirements and market analysis, for low to medium complexity sourcing events, that will result in the best overall value and TCO for the company
Present sourcing strategy and tactics recommendations to supply chain leadership, and key stakeholders
Execute the sourcing strategy and tactics to select the source. This may include: development of RFPs, use of eSourcing tools, bid evaluations, supplier evaluation, development of negotiation strategy, negotiation documents, supplier performance metrics, and contracts.
Present results of the source selection process to supply chain leadership and key stakeholders
Develop a detailed implementation plan that includes: the transition process and timing, communication plan identifying purpose, target audiences, key messages, frequency, duration, delivery medium(s), responsibilities, schedule, program utilization and user satisfaction metrics
Develop and document savings calculations and any other impact metrics
Determine reporting frequency and report savings
Ongoing management of suppliers in assigned spend categories
Ongoing collaboration with suppliers and internal users to continuously improve the supply chain (up and down stream)
Ongoing contract management, program utilization tracking and reporting, internal requirements monitoring and market dynamics monitoring

IV. Qualifications

A. Education and Experience
Experience: Three (3) years experience in a supply chain related position with category spend responsibility of $10M or greater (in addition to education requirement).
Strong Preference for Intermediate Excel Skills and great communication skills

Must demonstrate good understanding of Emotionally Intelligent approaches in persuading others to understand your and the department's position on matters.
Possess environmental and sustainability experience
Must be a team player who can work within a matrix organization to achieve results
Demonstrated ability to develop and build strong relationships and facilitate changes in systems and processes to support internal and external customers; has quickly evaluated a complex system and identified problems and potential solutions
Ability to use software and information technology to more effectively manage and grow the function
Experienced in articulating the business and product strategies emphasizing the strategic importance of the various products, systems and services
Demonstrated strong strategic thinking and ability to execute and implement
Demonstrated ability to partner and build relationships in diverse businesses
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead cross-functional teams to results
Possess strong financial acumen and operational expertise
