This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiate multi-million dollar contracts, and collaborate across departments to optimize supply chain performance.About the Role
The Contract Portfolio Manager oversees assigned contract categories, developing and executing category strategies aligned with organizational goals. You will lead negotiations with local, national, or international suppliers, ensuring optimal pricing, standardization, and performance. Your expertise will support supplier diversity and local spend targets, facilitate product and technology standardization, and coordinate new product or capital requests related to your categories.You will serve as the product portfolio expert, maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring vendor performance, and conducting business reviews. Collaborating with clinical and operational leaders, legal, finance, and supply chain teams, you will ensure contract terms are aligned, approved, and effectively implemented.Key Responsibilities  Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned categories, including negotiation of contracts.Lead multi-level supplier negotiations to secure best cost and performance outcomes.Manage supplier relationships, monitor vendor performance, and conduct periodic business reviews.Collaborate with clinical effectiveness councils and other stakeholder groups by providing relevant data and insights.Identify opportunities for product standardization, utilization improvements, and emerging technologies.Coordinate new product, capital, purchase service, and technology requests related to your categories.Ensure all contract terms are reviewed, approved, and aligned with legal, finance, and operational stakeholders.Perform retrospective analysis of sourcing initiatives to evaluate outcomes and continuous improvement opportunities.Collaborate with group purchasing organizations on strategy, benchmarking, and category opportunities.Lead or support projects of complex nature using independent judgment and tools, guiding assigned Portfolio Specialists.Qualifications & Experience  Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related analytical discipline.5-7 years of healthcare experience in supply chain, contract management, or related fields; relevant experience in sourcing and negotiation preferred.Experience in project management, analytics, vendor negotiations, and stakeholder engagement.Contract negotiation and lifecycle management experience highly preferred.Strong leadership, strategic thinking, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; familiarity with statistical software is a plus.Proficiency with supply chain business systems and tools.Ability to travel as needed within various locations.Why IU Health?
