Strategic Sourcing Manager

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is a strategic business enabler and partner to our IT department. Our company is undergoing major transformations, especially in the digital space, and this role will be integral to the success of this transformation journey. As such, this role will act as procurement liaison and business partner to various senior business leaders across the organization to execute on procurement delivery through negotiation and contract strategies for high risk/complex and sensitive sourcing initiatives.

What you'll do:

The responsibilities of this role encompasses strategic and commercial aspects including spend assessment, supplier and market assessment, RFx development, evaluation strategy, negotiations, selection of suppliers, and supporting the business with effective integration into the organization. The role will act as a stakeholder and representative for Aviva in contract disputes or negotiations.

Factors essential to this critical role include:

Interacting with Aviva business partners (mid-level to executive level) to ensure that strategies and sourcing related activities address their needs.

Becoming a trusted advisor and business partner to key business stakeholders.

Setting a strategic direction and vision for responsible categories by applying category management principles

Deliver cost savings / avoidance 

Implementing and driving sourcing events for products and services.

Leading dispute resolution processes

Leading key negotiations

Handling designated supplier contracts

Communicating effectively and building strong relationship with senior leadership

What you’ll bring:

University degree or equivalent work experience

5+ years in category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management  of IT and SaaS products with in-depth supply chain knowledge

Experience in AI / GenAI contracting or project is an asset

Experience in business transformation initiatives is an asset

Project and contract management experience for professional and IT services contracts

Shown ability to lead change at the executive level with a focus on service delivery and financial results

Understanding of benchmarking processes and techniques

Experience with supplier performance measures and monitoring

Demonstrates global competence and experience working with global / multinational companies and collaborators from different regions to collaborate or seek consensus
