Job Description:
The role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies primarily for our third-party facilities that ensures supply, maximizes value for money, and improves quality for $120M+ spend in third party manufacturing. This position is accountable for exploring opportunities to recommend and execute supply chain optimization strategies. The role operates in a pet friendly, open office environment supporting natural pet nutrition.
The Commercial Operations team is the key interface across our third-party facilities and key stakeholders such as Planning, Supply, R&D, Finance, EMQA, Quality, and Activity Management. This associate is responsible for supplier performance improvement, proactive risk management, value leadership, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional business results in the following key areas:
Deliver Growth Innovation Strategy - New Product Launches, Supplier Performance & Relationship Management, and Speed to Market Support our cross functional partners on global projects and projectsSupply Risk Mitigation for externally produced finished goodsSupport all project Commercial inputs for all Coman sourcingWhat are we looking for?5 years of procurement experience.A passion for developing strong relationships with supplier and cross functional stakeholders both domestically and internationally.Bachelors degree at a minimum.Preferred cold supply chain experience and animal proteins knowledgeSound interpersonal and people leadership skillsWhat will be your key responsibilities?Support the EMQM team to execute regional and global strategies to drive the continuous improvement of our supply chain and innovation pipelineContinuous improvement of suppliers’ performance, and relationships ManagementPartners with operations associates to assure purchasing contract accuracy, contract adherence and contract reportingAchieve competitive price advantage through knowledge of markets, including the relevant domestic and international economic factors.Deliver market trend, market development information and analysis to drive business understanding of these markets and how best to utilize the capabilities of suppliers and industry developments to deliver a competitive advantage to Mars Petcare. This includes leading creation and implementation of strategic supplier initiatives to deliver sustained competitive advantage.Ability to influence others not in direct span of controlProven ability to prioritize activities appropriately and make trade-off decisions as appropriateMars Inc. doesn't sponsor VISAs for this role.
